AQUALYX™ - Non Surgical Liposuction

What is AQUALYX™?
Aqualyx is an injectable solution that aims to dissolve stubborn areas of subcutaneous fat resistant to diet and exercise. It contains a substance called desoxychol-acid which is found naturally in bile salts within the human body, where it is responsible for digestion of fat.

How does AQUALYX™ work?
The Aqualyx molecule attaches itself to the wall of fat cells in the area of injection, and starts to dissolve the wall surrounding the cell. This causes the fat cell to become unstable and to break open, releasing fatty acids. The fatty acids contained within the cell are then eliminated by the human body’s defense system. The fat is ultimately eliminated from the body by the liver.

What areas can be treated with AQUALYX™?

In principle AQUALYX™ can be injected over the entire body except the area around the eyes. Some areas that are particularly suitable for treatment are shown in the picture.

The Procedure:
Following a consultation, the problematic area due to be treated will be marked out. You will then be positioned on the couch to allow the best access to the area to be treated. The treatment itself takes anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated. Usually each area only requires one or two needle insertion points, and the product is released using a fanning technique in several directions from one injection point.

Home Visits:

At Skin Made Perfect we understand that some individuals would prefer to have treatments done in the comfort and privacy of their own home and if possible we will try to accommodate this. Please be aware that an additional £25 will be charged for home visits.

  • An ideal patient is one who is close to their ideal body weight but has isolated stubborn areas of fat deposition. These can be genetically predetermined and can prove very difficult to get rid of in other ways. You must be able to pinch at least 1.5cm of fat for an area to be suitable for treatment.

  • The Aqualyx solution will be mixed with a small amount of a local anesthetic drug called lidocaine to make it more comfortable. The needle used is very fine. Most people describe the procedure itself as a little uncomfortable but not painful. If you are concerned, you may take 2x 500mg Paracetamol tablets 1 hour prior to the treatment to ease the discomfort.

  • From today’s scientific knowledge no dissolved fat cell will ever return or be redeveloped by the body. Nevertheless remaining fat cells can dramatically increase their size. Therefore it is important to stay on a balanced nutrition protocol and keep on moving.
